The Process

History

Brookpace Fine Art (later to become Brookpace Lascelles) was first established in 1991 after redeveloping and reintroducing Oleography -the Victorian process of replicating Oil Paintings - and remain the worlds largest and leading manufacturer.

The aim was to create a unique and high quality picture that captures all the colour, craquelure, texture and character of an original painting. With the use of both up-to-date technology and skilled craftsmen, this has been achieved. Each Oleograph is a master-piece in its own right and carefully hand-finished to recreate that timeless look and appeal of an original.
Since that time Brookpace Lascelles has added a number of art Collections to the range, each offering a unique finish and look. From our Iconic Photography Collection offered in beautiful bevel mirrored frames, our Archive Collection depicting hand drawn images with many offered in stylish mouldings with antique mirror glass inlaid, our Vintage Maps Collections carefully reproducing original hand drawn 'Cartes' and framed in hand-made wooden frames, to our Triptychs Collection of eye catching photography offered in 3 separately framed pieces to create a window of images.
To Order an Oleograph:-
Unframed Sizes

Because of the unique production process we have developed, and unlike nearly all other reproductions, each picture is available in any of our six standard sizes, from 7" x 5" (18cm x 13cm) to 40" x 30" (102cm x 76cm), as indicated in the size chart shown on the 'How To Order' page. In addition to this we offer the 'Lucy Hannah Collection' available in sizes 12.5" x 5" (13cm x 32cm) and 20" x 8" (20cm x 51cm). Each unframed picture is produced on a hand stretched canvas mounted onto a wooden stretcher frame.

Frames

Each Oleograph can be supplied either framed or unframed. Please use our framing functionality, designed to make selection easy.

Special Commissions

A special commission service is available, allowing customers to provide their own images from which we can make Oleographs, even if only a single reproduction is required. Contact our office for further information.
